As a gender variant visual artist I access ‘technologies of gender’ in order to amplify rather than erase the hermaphroditic traces of my body. I name myself. A gender abolitionist. A part time gender terrorist. An intentional mutation and intersex by design, (as opposed to diagnosis), in order to distinguish my journey from the thousands of intersex individuals who have had their ‘ambiguous’ bodies mutilated and disfigured in a misguided attempt at ‘normalization’. I believe in crossing the line as many times as it takes to build a bridge we can all walk across.<\/em>

Il collettivo LGBTIQ Suigeneris<\/a>, nell’ambito delle iniziative verso il Roma Europride 2011, organizza una conferenza con Del LaGrace Volcano<\/a>, dal titolo re-Presenting Intersex in art, culture and daily life<\/em> (rappresentare l’intersessualit\u00e0 nell’arte, nella cultura e nellla vita quotidiana), che si terr\u00e0 marted\u00ec 10 maggio 2011, alle ore 16.00, nell’aula Majorana, al piano terra della Facolt\u00e0 di Fisica dell’Universit\u00e0 La Sapienza, piazzale Aldo Moro 5, Roma. La conferenza, che sar\u00e0 tradotta in italiano, fa parte del ciclo di seminari dal titolo Queer your mind<\/em><\/a>, organizzati dal collettivo Suigeneris e coordinati da Caterina Romeo, che insegna studi di genere alla Sapienza.<\/p>\n
